Straight Drop Awnings
Straight Drop Awnings are an exterior vertical blind sun protection system designed in Europe, with simple and unobtrusive styling, making it one of the most widely used Awnings for sun protection in homes today.
 
The Straight Drop Awning is available with solid fabrics such as canvas and draylon fabrics and Ferrari Soltis Sunscreen fabrics. Straight Drop Awnings can be easily and discretely fitted to an existing home or commercial building, maximising the use of outdoor areas all year round.
 
Due to the Straight Drop Awnings compact profile it can also be installed inside window and opening reveals during the construction stage, thus totally hiding any components from view.
 
The unique Straight Drop Awning profile includes a 95 x 95mm or 125 x 125mm aluminium cassette head box, and heavy duty base rail for strength and are manufactured from high grade aluminium extrusion, which can be powder coated to any colour from the Dulux Powder Coat Colour Range. The Straight Drop Awning can be installed with either side guide channels (powder coated) or marine grade stainless steel guides wires for the Awning to operate.

Straight Drop Awnings can either be operated Manually by a gearbox, which is discretely fitted inside the cassette, or Motorised by use of tubular drive Somfy motor. Motorisation also allows options such as a remote control, sun and wind sensors and timing controls. All Straight Drop Awnings can be programmed into your Home Automation System, allowing for group control over a number of windows simultaneously.

One of the main benefits of installing a Straight Drop Awning is the improved insulation from heat gain and loss, UV Shielding and reduction of glare. An important contributing factor to the Straight Drop Awning's energy efficient design is the narrow gap between glass and fabric, which is similar in principle to a roller shutter.
 
Depending upon the fabric chosen, some of the benefits achieved with the Straight Drop Awning will be improved insulation, UV Shielding and reduction of glare, resulting in lower cooling costs. An opaque fabric can be used to create a near total UV Blockout, whilst an open weave fabric such as a sheer can offer sun protection without losing your view.
